Unravel the mystery of printing. Learn from the professionals - suitable for everyone. Chris Ceaser is an Ambassaador for the Canson Infinity range of fine art papers. He is often found giving inspirational talks on priting and paper at events across the U.K. His teaching methods are easy to understand whilst providing the very highest level of expertise. Chris is happy to offer these 1-2-1 print days that make a great gift for the photographer in your life, or maybe a treat for yourself.

Printing is a fun thing to do that puts you in control, helping you to produce beautiful images that last forever (well, centuries at least). We will be looking at file preparation, sharpening techniques, and making beautiful prints.

Book onto this one day course aimed at everyone and improve your image preparation and get a better understanding of paper and how it can transform your images before you print, with all tuition by Chris. You will be provided with your own workstation and you are invited to bring along 10-20 of your own RAW files, or print ready files, some of which we can work on during the course.

You can expect to learn:

Preparing your image for print
Setting the print size
Sharpening techniques for stunning output
Downloading and understanding ICC profiles and where to put them on the PC
Setting up the printer (you will be using a Canon Pro 300 A3+ affordable printer)
Looking at print quality
Looking at various paper styles and understanding how these affect your image when printed

All in all, a great day where you can finally break down the print process into easily understandable parts. Printing does NOT have to be a black art and is a fun thing to do.

Print Workshop 1-2-1.  10.00-12.00pm & 12.30-4.00pm

This new 1 day course has been designed to give you a professional's insight into the power of print.
The course takes you through the whole print process, from setting up the printer to resizing and sharpening images ready for printing. 

Part 1. Intro to Printing.
Chris will take you through the key elements of the print process. We will discuss the steps involved in making the perfect print and discover a simple workflow that will put some joy back into your photography.

Part 2. ICC Profiles
ICC profiles are essential if you want to make that perfect print. These small files contain all the information your printer needs to reproduce the colours and the tones that you see on your (calibrated) screen. They sound complicated, but they are not and once you have a grasp of what they do and how to use them they will quickly become your best friend when it comes to the print process. 

Part 3. Print For Impact 
Chris will run through a tried and tested simple workflow that will enable you to get the best output possible. We will look at:
-sizing your image for print
-setting the print space
-considering different media options to understand how paper choice can affect the look and feel of an image
-selecting the right paper for your image
-downloading and choosing the right ICC profiles
-sharpening your image before printing
-making prints using PS or LR

Meeting at the Chris Ceaser Photography studios at Scrooby, near Bawtry (DN10 6AE), you will be working at your own workstation alongside Chris.

Course cost: (1-2-1 tuition)   £445 per person which covers all tuition/equipment on the day, including 6 sheets of A3+ paper for you to use/take home as part of the workshop!

Courses run over a whole day, beginning at 09:30 and ending around 16:30

After an initial chat over coffee about the course and what we hope to achieve we will start the course.

Provided:
All tuition by Chris. A workstation for you to work on and access to Lightroom/Photoshop. A graphics tablet and a mouse.
6 x  A3+ (max) prints that you have worked on to take home.
Extra prints available at a cost of £24 per A3+ sheet
There are no extras to pay
All you need to bring is a packed lunch. The day will finish over a final Q&A session perhaps over a coffee to answer any niggling questions.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE INSURANCE IN PLACE TO COVER NON-ATTENDANCE IN CASE OF ILLNESS, DAMAGE TO KIT ETC.

The course cost does not include transport to and from the location nor any insurances for you or your kit. Lunch is not included. Drinks throughout the day are included. Most people bring packed lunch or grab something at the lunchtime cafe break.

Your payment will be needed to confirm the booking. Courses cannot, unfortunately, be re-arranged due to Chris' work commitments although in cases of extreme weather (Heavy snows, blizzards, undriveable conditions etc) where travel is not possible and severe weather warnings are in place then Chris will be happy to re-arrange. As these days are bespoke in nature there are no set dates. Simply contact Chris to arrange your day on a date that is mutually convenient.

The days start at 09:30 and normally finish around 16:30 unless extra prints are ordered in which case we print those after the course. We normally break for lunch around 12:30 for half an hour, though this is flexible.
